  19. I'm afraid the flash upgradability doesn't pertain to the DSP code, as many 
  20. people on this newsgroup (myself included) originally thought.  Therefore, 
  21. Motorola can't just give you a flash update for a faster protocol (as USR did 
  22. with the Couriers).  However, one thing Motorola DID do was make the modem 
  23. Plug'n'Play compliant for Win95.  The update which included a compatibility 
  24. patch to compensate for buggy Rockwell-based modems also made the modem 
  25. Plug'n'Play compliant.

  27. There have been rumors (although they've quieted down lately) that Motorola 
  28. might offer a trade-in upgrade to 33.6k for existing Power owners, but nothing 
  29. official has been forthcoming, and the rumors died down, so that looks 
  30. unlikely.
